Does Anxiety or Panic Attacks raise Your Blood Pressure?
Anything that is related to stress and makes your heart beat faster will increase your blood pressure. Knowing this it only seems logical that anxiety and panic attacks will cause high blood pressure. I know this first hand. Since the age of eight I have suffered from these “attacks”. At first I had no idea what they were, but some thirty years later, after being wheeled into an emergency room for what I thought was a heart attack, I learned some things about them. After the doctor informed me that what I was experiencing was a panic attack and not a heart attack, I decided to do some research on them. If I had spent most of my life suffering from anxiety attacks and didn’t know it, how many other people where out there in the same boat? How many of them are having problems with high blood pressure and think it has to do with their diet?

Diet can be a factor as well as the anxiety attacks. Many of us are just to stressed. We are causing our own high blood pressure and not by eating improperly. If you are letting stress get to you and letting it effect your blood pressure then it is time to step back and try to find what it is that is stressing you out so badly and get rid of it. If panic attacks are causing high blood pressure, don’t you think getting rid of the panic attacks so your blood pressure goes down is a good idea?
In order to reduce the stress in your life you are going to have to discover where it is coming from. What is it that stresses you out so much? Then finding a way to cope with the stress, by exercising or just taking some “me” time will help. If you can learn to relax it will cut down on the panic attacks which will in turn cut down on high blood pressure.

If you are someone who suffers from anxiety attacks then it is important that you keep all stimulants out of your diet. Things like soda pop, tea, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, or any caffeinated product is a no-no. By cutting down on these items you will lower the number of anxiety attacks you have, which will in turn help lower your blood pressure.
