If not treated early, panic attack can lead to panic disorder. In fact, having panic attacks is one of the major signs and symptoms of panic disorder. You may be diagnosed with panic disorder after experiencing several panic attacks. Panic disorder is actually a magnified intense fear that occurs especially when in places, that look familiar and which trigger bad memories or fear.

Panic attacks

Unlike panic disorder usually last longer and if you are experiencing it, you might think you are going crazy or that something terrible is going to happen. Panic attacks are usually a warning that you might be having a panic disorder. Some of the symptoms you might encounter include feeling of lightheadedness, chest pains, rapid breathing, rapid heartbeat, numbness, sweating, tingling feeling on the fingers, nausea, hot flashes, trembling or shaking, abdominal pains, feeling that you are about to die and that of being in an unrealistic world.

As the panic attacks continue recurring, you might feel strongly that you need medical help or have the desire to move to a safer place. Although it may not be considered a life threatening illness, all the same, it’s important to seek treatment. Panic disorder is a kind of mental problem which if no treated early can lead to serious psychological problems.

Panic attacks may develop when experiencing a lot of stress or when anxious. If you are going through a separation or loss of a loved one, an illness etc, chances are that you might encounter a panic attack. Since these attacks occur often unexpectedly, they might force you to avoid some activities or being in certain places, or simply just stay home where it’s safer. Basically what you feel is that if you participate in a certain activity, you might get an attack, therefore you simply just stay away from it. You might also feel the need to stay closer to people and not alone without understanding why.

Panic attacks

If the attack occurred while driving or just strolling, you will find yourself avoiding such activities because you feel can lead to other attacks. However, avoiding such situation can take a toll on your normal life and how you relate with close people. Yet these are the things that make you feel safer. If you are agoraphobic (fear of being in certain places which you feel can cause a panic attack to recur) the situation might just aggravate.

Panic attacks can also cause anxiety disorder. This means that if you do not get treatment for panic disorder, you will end up suffering from two disorders. Treating both disorders then becomes quite complicated. In fact, it you might require longer treatments to completely eliminate anxiety, as well as panic disorder.

Avoid alcohol and depression at all costs because they are major causes of panic attacks. Panic disorder in most people lasts a lifetime. Fortunately, there are several treatments that can be used to reduce the attacks as well as the said symptoms. The best treatments are natural cures, which are drug free. With treatment, it’s possible to get back to leading a normal life as well as engaging in activities you fear.
